Core engagement
Product Development Partnership
A cross-functional team that designs, builds, launches and improves your software.
- Duration
- Ongoing, monthly
- Format
- Dedicated capacity, monthly retainer
- Fee
- Scoped after discovery
This is for you if
- You need sustained delivery capacity, not a one-off project drop.
- Scope will genuinely evolve as you learn, and you want a model that survives that honestly.
- You want one accountable partner rather than coordinating three contractors.
This is not for you if
- You need a fixed scope, fixed date and fixed price simultaneously on work with real uncertainty. We will not promise all three; anyone who does is managing you, not the risk.
- You are looking for the lowest hourly rate.
The problem it solves
Software is not finished at launch — that is when the most useful information starts arriving. Teams that treat delivery as a project end up with an asset nobody owns three months later.
A partnership model keeps the people who built it accountable for how it performs, and keeps the cost predictable while the scope stays honest about what has been learned.
How it runs
What we actually do
-
Shape
Architecture, UX flows, release plan, and the governance, security, quality and deployment expectations we will hold ourselves to.
-
Deliver
Short iterations with working software demonstrated every one. Risk, budget, scope and decisions tracked in the open — including the uncomfortable ones.
-
Launch
Production readiness, acceptance and security testing, training, deployment and rollback plans, adoption monitoring.
-
Improve
Measure outcomes, prioritize what the evidence supports, reduce operational noise, and keep going.
Deliverables
What you receive
Documents you keep, whether or not you continue with us.
- A named, cross-functional team: engagement lead, architect, engineers, QA and DevOps
- Working software demonstrated every iteration
- Prioritized backlog maintained with you, not for you
- Architecture decision records
- Automated tests and deployment pipelines
- Monthly reporting on progress, budget, risk and decisions
- Quarterly roadmap review against business outcomes
What happens afterwards
Partnerships typically continue into Managed Application Care as products mature, or expand as new capability is justified.
Questions we are usually asked
How is this priced?
A monthly retainer for a defined team shape, agreed after discovery. No hourly timesheet games, and a change-control process for material scope changes.
Can we use our own designers or product owner?
Yes, and we prefer it when you have them. We fill the gaps rather than duplicating your people.
What happens if we want to stop?
Notice period per contract, and a documented transition: runbooks, architecture records, credentials and a handover period. Continuity is a contract term, not a favour.
Who owns the code?
You own all client-specific deliverables and your data. Pre-existing WeInDev components are licensed to you perpetually — the contract distinguishes the two explicitly.
